Russian Destroyer Taszkient 1940 1/350 Trumpeter

The Taszkient lead destroyer entered service with the Soviet Union in 1939. An avant-garde design for its time, Taszkient was one of the few large ships whose speed could exceed 40 knots during World War II.  During World War II her main task was to transport people and goods. Taszkient was quite legendary for a while, in much the same style as Rasputin, for being indestructible. The German Air Force has surrounded Taszkient on several occasions and performed air strikes on it over ninety times. The Germans dropped over 400 bombs on it and torpedoed it ten times but it only suffered a proximity bomb. The ship was eventually completely destroyed in an air raid and offered no repair value, so was demolished in 1945.
