The King Tiger was the heaviest tank of WWII. With its powerful, long-barreled 88mm gun it was capable of destroying a Sherman tank from 3500 meters. They were issued to the army in February 1944 and were in combat by May, in battles near Minsk. Two companies of King Tigers were in the Battle of Normandy.
