There are five Regiments of Foot Guards in the Household Division at Buckingham Palace: the Grenadier Guards, the Coldstream Guards, the Scots Guards, the Irish Guards and the Welsh Guards. Known for their tall bearskin hats, Queen’s Guard soldiers are a major modern tourist attraction. A Grenadier Guard’s specific duties include acting as pallbearers for deceased monarchs.
