A-10C ‘Blacksnakes’ USAF Attacker/Fighter 1/48 Italeri

This large twin-engine plane was built for the USAF for close support and anti-tank missions. Despite its extensive armor and armament, the A-10 is highly maneuverable. The Thunderbolt II (also called “Warthog”) was built around its remarkable 30mm GAU-8, which can shred tank armor with its special depleted uranium ammunition. Around the mid-2000s, the A-10, updated to “C” standard, was improved to be in line with changed operational needs. The A-10C is able to use the most advanced weapon systems and target acquisition pods.
